Location:This hotel is located slap bang in the centre of Amsterdam, close to Central Station, the red light district, the Kalverstraat which is Amsterdams main shopping district, and the Jordaan, one of the nicest areas of Amsterdam with its typical canals and bridges.Rooms:The bedrooms are in very good condition and are of a superior standard to most 3 star hotels. They are also larger than most bedrooms of this category hotel and have been decorated with funky lighting that you can change to suit your mood, fashionable furniture, and flat screen televisions, to name but a few unique features that this hotel has to offer. The bathrooms were also modernised and are also in very good conditionRestaurant:Due to its location, their is no restaurant in this hotel but the breakfast room is located in the lobby. It is quite a dark space as the fixtures are predominantly black, however, it is very up to date and almost chic with large tables, an attractive bar behind the reception, a flat screen television and a intimate lounging area.Exterior:This hotel is on the corner of 2 roads that arrive at a point at the front door of the hotel giving it a unique shape. It is a fairly traditional exterior.Lobby:The lobby is large with a dark decor that shows off the backlit shelves behind the bar that hold the hotels bar drinks. Their are large, central light fittings, a lounge/library area and an internet corner. It is a most attractive and welcoming lobby which has helped to raise this property from a average 2 star hotel to an exceptional 3 star property.General:This is a lovely, 3 star hotel in an excellent condition that offers excellent accommodation and comes highly recommended.

Location:This hotel is perfectly situated on the Rembrandtplein in the heart of the city. It is close to all the main tourist attractions and is easily accessible by tram from Central Station.Rooms:The rooms are medium-sized and were renovated in 2006 to an extremely high standard. The colour scheme is earthy with dark wood furniture, brown walls and carpet and lime green chairs, all in very good condition. The bathrooms feature dark grey slate tiles, or blue floor tiles, with large, white and square modern sinks and silver trimming,including new hairdryers. All are in very good condition.Restaurant:Breakfast is served in an airy and large room that may be found on the first floor and accessible by elevator. Due to the location of this hotel, only breakfast is served although one can also eat at their sister hotel located across the square or in one of the numerous eateries located on the hotels doorstep.Exterior:The building is modern in contrast to its immediate surroundings, but seems to blend in well due to its size.Lobby:The lobby is small but cosy with ample seating on very comfortable and plump armchairs.The colours of the lobby are predominantly green and blue with dark wooden walls.General:A nice hotel with an excellent location.

Location:Located in the centre of Amsterdam, close to the Waterlooplein and a short walk from Central Station.Rooms:The bedrooms are medium in size but are larger than the majority of the rooms in Ibis properties in Benelux. They are in very good condition and have recently benefitted from a make over where the colour scheme is a more attractive cream and beige, with wooden flooring and LCD televisions, along with a media hub in all rooms. The bathrooms are also in good condition and although with shower only, the showers are large with glass doors and are generally quite modern and attractive.Restaurant:Located on the ground floor, behind the bar area, the restaurant is also attractive with modern flooring and there is a garden with a deck where people can have breakfast.Exterior:A modern, purpose-built hotel.Lobby:The lobby was renovated in 2009 and is large and spacious with marble floor, limited seating and leads to the large bar area which has also been renovated in an attractive dark wood and red colour scheme and which offers ample seatin and a small bar menu.General:A good Ibis hotel with a good location. jg/03/2009

Single rooms are with shower only. All rooms are non-smoking and have air conditioning (except the single rooms).Restaurant:The breakfast room is located on the lower ground floor and was renovated in 2008. It has a slate floor, black and silver seating and is very elegant. The main breakfast room leads to a beautifully kept garden where ample tables and chairs and even sofas are available, weather permitting.Exterior:The hotel is in a traditional building dating back to the late 1890s.Lobby:The lobby, bar and reception is one open area, and was also renovated in 2008. Contemporary in design with a beige, slate grey and black colour scheme there is a bar area and a very comfortable lounge area. The impressive reception desk is very large and very shiny and very black but all very welcoming.General:This is a good and welcoming boutique style designer property in central Amsterdam. They vary quite a lot in shape and size due to the age of the building, but are on average medium to large. They are decorated in typical Dutch style with dark wooden furniture, cosy armchairs and contrasting patterned fabrics and furnishings. Bathrooms are on the whole of medium size and modern.Restaurant:The hotel has a Michelin restaurant called ?Vermeer? which serves a la carte food in formal but relaxed surroundings. There is also a Dutch 'brown cafe' in typical local style, and an elegant cocktail lounge with original fireplaces. There is also the Hudson which serves food all day and is located in the lobby and where breakfast is served.The hotel bar has recently been renovated and is now very modern with modern seating, lighting, and relaxing music and serves cocktails as well as beer, wine etc.Exterior:The building itself has been partly built from the facades of 19th historic buildings, most of which date from the 17th century.Lobby:The large lobby has recently been renovated and now benefits from a black and orange colour scheme with ample luxurious seating and intimate lighting. The restaurant?s cafe is also located in a part of the lobby.General:This is a very nice deluxe hotel with a very central location and which comes highly recommended.

This is a large room offering communal and bar tables as well as regular tables. It has a bright decor and a smoking and non-smoking section and offers a very varied choice of hot buffet items. The large bar area, which is located on the upper split level, serves a light menu available for lunch and dinner and in the summer, there is a small patio.Exterior:This is a modern, purpose built hotelLobby:The lobby is medium in size with marble floor and modern furniture in bright blue and yellow. The area is split level (accessible by ramp as well as stairs) and leads to the hotel bar and more seating.General:This is an excellent property with an excellent location and comes highly recommended.

Its typical Dutch style exterior blends in well with the neighboring buildings.Lobby:The lobby and public areas are attractively decorated in Italian style using lots of marble and with minimal seating.General:The hotel offers a good standard of comfort and enjoys one of the best locations in town.

All the bedroom furniture is from Italy as one of the owners is Italian and the bedrooms are all medium sized with light wood and burgundy colours - again, of a very high standard for this kind of product, especially with this location. The bathrooms are also in good condition.Restaurant:The hotel offers breakfast only and the breakfast area is in the bar and also behind the bar which is partitioned by a particularly attractive fake wooden book case showing that the hotel gives much attention to detail.Exterior:Although surrounded by traditional buildings, this hotel was completely knocked down before it was reconstructed in 2002 therefore the building is modern but in traditional surroundings.Lobby:The lobby is small and includes a bar but is decorated very nicely and a little eccentrically with dark red walls and dark brown furniture and attractive, ornate gilt mirrors. It is very welcoming and of a very high standard for this kind of product in the heart of Amsterdam.General:This is an excellent product in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam and is probably the best product of its category in this area. 020807JG

There is also a brasserie located next to the restaurant for those who wish to savour a less formal atmosphere and experience, and in the summer, the beautiful, large terrace serves all meals throughout the day.Exterior:This is a very traditional, large building which is very impressive and a landmark of Amsterdam.Lobby:The lobby and the rest of the public areas are also traditional in style and exude elegance and luxury and class. The lobby is large with gold plated adornings, attractive cornices and the lounge area is located off the lobby with wonderful views of Amsterdam and the River Amstel. Afternoon tea and other beverages are served here.General:This hotel is without doubt the best in the city, and so is used predominantly by both local and international governments and the entertainment world. The health spa also has a lovely advantage in that there is a lovely sun terrace which overlooks the Amstel River and where people can relax with a drink or sunbathe, weather permitting. Location:Located in the very heart of Amsterdam on one of the popular canal streets, this hotel is within walking distance of all the major tourist attractions and can be found just off one of the main shopping streets.Rooms:Due to the fact that this is an old building, all the rooms vary in size; however, they are all medium to large and all decorated to a high standard having recently benefited from renovation. Some rooms have beamed ceilings, some have views on the canal and all have traditional furniture. Most of the bathrooms have been renovated and these are also in very good condition, as are the bathrooms that have not been renovated, although the new bathrooms are very modern in style with tiled floors, granite sinks and heated towel rails.Restaurant:The breakfast room is located on the lower ground floor and is a large and beautiful old room with stained glass windows. There is a restaurant but the hotel does not run this; it is on the lower ground floor of the hotel although there is a separate entrance on the canal side of the property. Location:This charming hotel is ideally situated along one of Amsterdam's historic and infamous canals, the Herengracht. The city's museums and entertainment centres are all within walking distance, as well as the famous Amsterdam flower market, Central Station and Rembrandtsplein.Rooms:The bedrooms are all-inclusive, meaning that mini-bar drinks, cable TV and films are all complimentary. The bedrooms are in very good condition and are decorated in a faux art-deco style, with wooden furniture, plasma television and surround sound, burgundy curtains, a black armchair and foot stool and an art deco wardrobe. The bathrooms have also been completely renovated and are also in very good condition with black and white tiling and a power shower with extra large shower head in every room.Restaurant:The hotel does not have a restaurant due to the numerous restaurants surrounding the hotel However, there is a breakfast room on the lower ground floor. This was also completely renovated in 2004 and now has a black and white tiled floor. There is some seating available on a yellow banquette and a breakfast buffet is served on an imitation Aga cooker. The wooden dressers and the Aga give a cosy and homey atmosphere, and some items are cooked on the spot e.g. pancakes, waffles etc. There is also a large table adorned with magazines and sightseeing leaflets.Exterior:It is an old building, recently cleaned and protected as one of Amsterdam's monuments.Lobby:The lobby, like the rest of the hotel, is reminiscent of the art deco era, the period in which the hotel was actually built. It has stained glass windows, wooden floors and an attractive wooden reception desk. Extending from the lobby is the lounge area, which has ample seating on multicoloured furniture, a feature fire place, a complimentary bar and an Internet corner.General:This hotel is very well located and offers the guest a unique concept in as much as everything is included, from the mini bar in the rooms, to the drinks in the hotel bar and use of the Internet. The only exception is phone calls. This is one of the finest first class properties in Amsterdam.
