This is an authentic neighbourhood hotel, whose history was shaped by the cultural mix that swirls on the southern slopes of Montmartre. The team is local and will take you to meet some of the places, people and stories that bring Pigalle alive and make Paris so vibrant. The croissants are provided by the nearby bakery, the books selected by the local bookstore and the music chosen by a neighbourhood DJ who also is an album collector and happens to be born in Pigalle. Local artists, shopkeepers and restaurant owners, they all have something to say about their neighbourhood. You can meet up for a drink, a night (out), or a coffee. The groundfloor has a cafe, bar and restaurant, a vinyl record library, and a newspaper and book kiosk, all run by the colourful characters who make Pigalle what it is. There are parties, DJ sets and table dancing, providing guests with a foretaste of what they can expect as they explore the uncharted jungle that is Paris. All the rooms have a strong Parisian identity. They are decorated in neoclassical architecture, which inspired artists and poets in the late nineteenth century. They are simple and comfortable, full of domestic touches, more like a friend?s bedroom than a cookie-cutter hotel room. Each is a collection of objects, souvenirs, music, books and second-hand furniture, with a personality all of its own.
