Canyon de Chelly National Monument offers spectacular geological formations and steep-walled canyons which meet the mysteries of the preserved ruins of Native American villages.The historic residence is the only accommodation available within the monument. The lodge sits on the site of an 1896 trading post. Its pink adobe construction is reminiscent of ancient pueblos. A vault-like room in the centre of the dining area once served as a jail for the trading post.
